Founded in 1927, the St. Francis Yacht Club is both the oldest and most prestigious nautical club in the Western United States. With unobstructed views of the Alcatraz and the Golden Gate Bridge, as well as prime docking space in San Francisco’s famous Marina District, it is no wonder the St. Francis Yacht Club was named the number one yacht club in the U.S. by Platinum Clubs of America in 2012. The Club’s members enjoy a wide spectrum of sailing opportunities including youth and one-design racing, as well as cruising activities.
In addition to putting on world-class regattas, the St. Francis Yacht Club hosts a number of stimulating lectures, themed parties, and musical events each year. With ample areas to unwind after a day on the Bay or in the office, the Club has become a home away from home for its members.
As an active member of both the San Francisco community as well as the St. Francis Yacht Club, Rob Landsness acts as the chair of the Club’s dining committee. It is in the Clubhouse when members sit down for either a casual or formal meal that they are able to develop an enduring camaraderie, mutual respect, and appreciation for tradition, all of which are values upon which the St. Francis Yacht Club was founded.
