The new year is off to a wonderful start! Will Densberger and I were pleased to represent our clients Alfred and Melanie Tesseron, in the purchase of their gorgeous Napa Valley estate. This sprawling estate, Villa Sorriso, sits atop the Mayacama Mountains, between the Napa and Sonoma Valleys and is truly a site to behold.
I’m so proud of this project, amazed to read all the wonderful articles and elated to receive a shout-out in the Wall Street Journal. Some excerpts from the articles below:
“..the Napa Valley estate of the late comedian Robin Williams has sold for $18.1 million, according to co-listing agent Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Previews International…Mr. Williams built the house, located in the Mayacamas Mountains, in the early 2000s. The estate originally went on the market in 2012 for $35 million with Sotheby’s International Realty, then was relisted in April of 2014 at $29.9 million with Ms. Rey and Cyd Greer of Coldwell Banker Previews.” Wall Street Journal
“The purchase of Villa Sorriso, a 640-acre vineyard estate within the prestigious Mt. Veeder wine growing AVA in the Napa Valley is the culmination of an exhaustive multi-year search by the Tesserons for a U.S. based venture. Celebrated for their award-winning Château Pontet Canet in Pauillac, Bordeaux as well as Tesseron Cognac, this is the first vineyard acquisition by the Tesserons outside of Bordeaux. The Tesserons plan to make elite Bordeaux-styled wine in Napa that will be consistent with their wines of Pontet Canet and appreciative of the unique nature of Mt. Veeder terroir. Villa Sorriso vineyards primarily are comprised of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, but also has plantings of Cabaret Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot.” Haute Living
“‘We are very happy to see the arrival of our friend Alfred Tesseron in Napa,’ said Christian Moueix, a fellow Bordeaux vintner who owns Napa Valley’s Dominus. ‘He will bring his quest for quality and will find, thanks to Napa’s climate, favorable conditions for his biodynamic approach—not to mention a dreamy mansion!'” Wine Spectator
